Propagating saplings of the Amb Sahib at Kartarpur — the descendant of the mango tree said to have been planted by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1522 — for distribution to gurdwaras and devotees.
The present Amb Sahib at Kartarpur is a descendant of the tree said to have been planted by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Local sevaadars have maintained the lineage through cuttings and air-layering for generations.
In late 2025, the Foundation partnered with the shrine committee to propagate a new set of saplings from the present tree, using careful air-layering techniques appropriate to the species.
The saplings will be distributed to gurdwaras and devotees who request them — continuing a five-hundred-year-old practice of carrying the tree's lineage outward.
